Henryk Iwan is an awarded composer based in Shanghai (China), known mostly for his scores to video games like PERFECT WORLD's War of the Immortals, SONY's Datura, and highly praised commercials for NIKE and APPLE, among others. He also composes for films, TV and other media.

He began his career in Poland (his home country), where he scored numerous short films, such as Razem (Together) or Lydia, and provided additional music for feature film The Bait. In 2008, he received his first major award for the Best Video Game Score, from Spectrasonics. At the beginning of 2010, he decided to move to Shanghai to be with his Chinese girlfriend (currently wife), and started his cooperation with one of the best and fastest growing audio postproduction studios in China - Simply Sound.

His music is very eclectic, as he believes that music can be either good or not - regardless of the genre. To achieve best results, he likes to rely on more typically musical aspects, like catchy melodies, strong themes and interesting harmonies. Backed up by proper orchestrations/arrangements, he tries to make his compositions self-sufficient already "on the paper", thus making the orchestral clusters, textural effects and "big sound" only a nice addition, rather than a main factor. Still, being one of just a handful of people on the globe, invited to work with some of the biggest, industry-leading music software developers (like Native Instruments, Best Service or Vienna Symphonic Library), it's certainly no surprise that his music is also very well produced.

His most recent projects include an upcoming beat-em-up game for Xbox 360 (to be released in early 2012), for which he created epic orchestral pieces, combined with moody electronic elements.
